As you know we have numerous outlets of Tucson Strength for those that want to participate in events outside of just training in the gym. From the barbell sports of Olympic and Powerlifting, Tactical Strength Challenge, and Rowing Time Trials we do our best to find ways for people train towards a goal!
We are excited to announce our newest program to TRAIN WITH PURPOSE at Tucson Strength.
We know many people have shared with us that they would love to be able to train for a race one day or they haven’t run in years and would like to run again! This has evolved into a very lively running group that has had our members running in 5k and 10k races. We now have many members getting ready for their first Half Marathon! Many of these people haven’t run prior to starting our endurance program! Our Running group meets 1-2 x per week and has been an amazing group to be a part of.
Coach Gail Leveque (see bio below) runs the Tucson Strength Endurance Coaching Program. Gail is a skillful coach that truly cares about her athletes. The Tucson Strength Endurance Program will not only involve running groups, but we will now offer private coaching and individualized programming. We will also be expanding our offerings to private coaching for running, cycling, and Triathlons!
Currently Coach Gail is training our athletes for numerous races ranging in distance from 5K to Full Marathons. We take runners of all levels, from someone that wants to get off the couch and race a 5k to the individual that wants to test their limits in longer durations. Our running community is growing and we do many local races as well as out of state races.
We will be training for numerous races this year and can help you train for your goal.

We have numerous options from race specific group training, to access to the running group, to private coaching with programming!
If you have been wanting to do something different and train for a goal outside of the gym this is for you! We will start slowly and help people adjust the running program based on their individual needs. We will help you on this journey.
If you are new to running or haven’t run in a long time we recommend you start with the 5K, if you have a decent fitness base and can run 5 miles uninterrupted currently it is possible to train for the longer runs or multi-sport.
Our Running group is open to all levels and race distances, but if you are interested in half marathon, marathon, or triathlon programming and coaching please inquire about our private coaching options.

Times and location of the Saturday morning groups may change weekly. As it heats up during the spring and summer expect to start the runs earlier. Based on the specifics of each run, the location may change to train on different terrain. We will send our weekly emails as well as update the Facebook running group with times and location.
There will also be office hours offered to meet with coaching staff to discuss goals and go over any questions regarding your programming.

Most runs are done in the early mornings, times change depend on the season and weather. Runs start between 5:30and 6am normally. Thursday Social runs are held in the evenings during the winter months.
**Half Marathon and Marathon Races will involve more individualized programming. There is an additional programming fee of $79 for these races. This fee includes program updates and modifications to adjust training volume and strategy.
Coach Gail Leveque heads up the endurance component of Tucson Strength. Gail is in charge of our running club, training programs and is available for 1 on 1 coaching for running, rowing and multisport training. A self-described adult onset athlete, Gail was like a lot of women starting out….a little overweight and loaded with self-doubt. Her journey from non-athletic mother of two to elite age group triathlete has given Gail the unique ability to relate to athletes of all ages and abilities. She has completed more than 100 triathlons, duathlons and running races since beginning training at age 36. Her athletic accomplishments include:
